I just noticed that NC AT&T received one vote in the Coaches poll and their coach is a voter....so do we think that just MAYBE she voted for her own team....i mean come on, aren't there some sort of by-laws or at least coaching values that the voting coaches have to go by....why do they even allow coaches to even vote????

The problem is Mechelle, is that most of the voters don't pay attention to RPI and SOS as you and the "smart" voters do. They base their decisions on politics and who they "think" should be in the Top 25. I mean come on Arkansas Little Rock is RV in the coaches poll this week and in prior weeks South Alabama and NC AT&T as well and in Week 4 of the AP poll there was Bradley, Arkansas LR, St. Bonaventure...i mean come on, who could actually justify putting these schools into their Top 25 teams in WCBB...I took forever to push Georgia and Arizona State out in prior weeks as well, it seems that some voters keep perennial teams around, just because they expect that they "should" be in the Top 25 rather than "deserve" to be there...and struggle to put teams like South Dakota State (who just lost, but is still in my poll b/c they still deserve to be there)...let's see know if Vandy falls out after losing on Sunday to Tenn (which is a guarantee) and if Ruters falls out after losing to Louisville on Sunday (too, a guarantee)

It's clear from the comments above and those you shared at ESPN.com that Coach Yow is an inspirational leader not only to her players but among her colleagues in the coaching fraternity. She continues to show remarkable grace in fighting a very public battle against a very serious and insidious disease, for whch there is no "easy" treatment. I'll keep her in my thoughts and hope that the days to come pass more easily for her.

Voepel, thanks for helping to tell her story in such a gentle but forthright and honest way.
